Tire Recommendations (LT275/65/18)?

Hi there,

It has come time for me to get a new set of tires for my '06 FX4 SCrew. The tire size is LT275/65/18 and I am not interested in upgrading to a larger wheel.

Just wondering what the recommendations are (I have been told by the local dealers that there are only 1 or 2 options in this tire size).

The vehicle is located in Nova Scotia, Canada so we do get some snow during the Winter months. I am looking for a general tire that will have a long life but still work fine all season long.

Thanks!

I'd go with the 285/65-18 BFG AT KO's.

Thanks for the advice... what is the treadlife on these? I am on a lease for another 2 years and would perfer not to have to replace the tires again before it is up.

Has anyone put Goodyear SilentArmor's on in a "P" tire (they have a 50,000 treadlife warranty)?

You can easily get 60,000 miles out of BFG AT KO's.

I'd have to agree on the 285x65x18 BFG AT, a great all around tire. The only drawback is that it's a Light Truck tire and not a P rated tire so it may ride a little rougher.

Just to Confirm that they will fit

Looks like I'm going to take the recommendation and go with the BFGoodrich All Terrain TA KO in a 285/65/18.

Just wanted to confirm that there will be no problems with them fitting properly on a factory 18" rim on a 2006 Screw FX4 edition?

Thanks for all the advice!

I'm currently also looking for same tire. For me the BFG A/T is louder and more aggresive than I care for and while its great in snow, its bad on ice around town. ITs 60lbs/tire(!!!) and really should be min 8.0"rim, not 7.5. The plus, it sure looks great! I'm going to go with the brand new (for this size/LT) the Toyo Open Country A/T. Also looks great, fits our rim better, 9lbs/tire lighter (both 10ply) and is a bit cheaper. I was quoted jsut under $300/tire in MB. BFG was @ $330. Another option is the just announced Michelin LTX AT2. Will start shipping them July 15th....

Tirerack has 18 tires in stock size and the BFG AT KO in 285/65R18. A great value is the Firestone Destination A/T. I liked the Revos better than the BFG I have now.

There are numerous options for tires in that size. Everyone from GY, Toyo, Bridgestone, Firestone, and I believe Nitto plus more all offer tires in that size. I have the GY Silent Armors in 275/70/18 and so far, I love them. They are a little taller than stock so it gives the truck a slightly more agressive look.
