Larger Tires = ABS troubles???

I was talking to a few people and they said if you go with too large of a tire (I was talking about going with 35's), that the ABS will not work on these trucks unless you buy sme ABS adaptor or something (around $50-75).

Does anyone know what I am talking about or had any issues going to 35's from stock tires?

The sensors sense rotation, has nothing to do with tire size. The only way I could see an issue would be is someone tried to do big backs and small fronts - then the rotation speeds change.

I have 37s and no issues.

ABS relies on the delta between wheel speeds. Since all 4 tires are the same size from the factory, keeping them all the same relative size is all that matters. Like Bryndon says, only if you put different size tires on the same vehicle at the same time would it matter. Your transmission shift points are the most affected as far as performance goes.

This site and FTW are full of members who have install tires ranging from 33 to 50 inches and I have never read a post regarding ABS problems.

Thank you all who replied. I knew that this would be straightened out if I posted it here.

Basically, the person told me that the brakes would still work fine, but the ABS would not function.

Once again, thanks for the clarification.

No ABS problem's, just a little harder to stop due to the heavier weight of the tires.
