315/70/17 on stock 04 Scab rims

im looking to put 315/70/17 on the stock 04 scab rims....will they fit with a 2" leveling kit and can the stock 3.55 non LS rear end handle it. will i need to go to smaller tires?

Thanks for any help

The tires will fit on the wheels, but it will be better to have a 2 1/2" leveling kit so they will clear. Hope your truck is a 4x4 and yes the 3.55 gears are not low enough. My 3.73's are having a hard time!

Yes, you will be fine with 33's. Also, since you have a 4x4, you would have to regear the front and rear.

Uh oh. I just ordered 315 70 17s today, but have have 3.55 non limited slip gears. What kind of damage are we talking about on my truck? Do other members run 35s without re-gearing? How much am I looking at to upgrade, and which gears should I get?

I have 35's and 3.55 gears with a 5.4. My performance is ok, but nothing to brag about. Since you have about 40 more hp than me, you should be fine unless you do a lot of heavy towing/hauling.

I have 315's and 3.55's as well. I do a LOT of highway driving 70 mph+ and my mileage hasn't changed at all, it's actually a little better on the highway. there is definatly a slight loss of power when driving around town, but it's not bad at all. my exhaust and chip gave me some power back, but the problem is that the engine isn't operating in the same powerband as it was before. a gear change isn't in the near future for me, it's just too much money...
