Road noise AT vs. MT

Is there a large difference in the road noise between the average MT as opposed to your average AT? From what I have found on these forums it sounds like Toyo MT's are fairly quiet. How would those compare to a terra grapp or mickey ATZ?

From my experience all MT's sound like a jumbo-jet on the highway...but this is very little MT experience comming. I have a set of Nitto Terra Grappler AT's and love them, no road noise untill you hit about 80, then they start to whine.

the terra grapplers and mickey thompson ATZ'S (which i love) are going to be pretty quiet on the road compared to a m/t tire. I have heard the toyo's are the quietest mud tire out there but have never heard them in person.

I've got Toyos and you definitely hear them, but it's not bad at all. ATs are a good deal quieter.

Well there ya go bud. Looks like toyo's are the way to go. I made my decision a while ago to get a pair once my tires wear out

I have BF Goodrich Mud-Terrains and they aren't really that loud. You can notice it but i am always "bumpin" so it doesn't bother me one bit.
