Rough ride

I recently bought em. (305 65 18) and I love the look but it is a little rough.
I have been riding on em for about 400 miles now.

I am trying to figure out if Rancho Shocks would make it a little more comfy.

ANY SUGGESTIONS.

No doubt I love the way they look though and I wont be going back to 285's.

Riddoch,

Did you fit the 305's on without a leveling kit? If you have one on, what size is it? Just wondering because your front looks a lot lower than your back.. Truck looks sweet though.

HMFIC, I have the 305's too, I drive a 05 screw lariat 4x4 with the 2" AS I know a guy at discount and he said that he would give me 100% of what I paid for my BFG AT's if I put it towards some 35x12.5 BFG muds,, I have over 10,00 miles on the tires, and I want a more agressive tire, but worried about the rub. If you had a deal like that and you are getting a company car in a month or so, would you do it. Just worried about how much rub. If not that much consider it done,

Not sure.. I think if you had the 2.5" A.S. I would say go for it. The muds look great, but thats about all they would do for ME. The extra noise, mpg loss, tread life loss, would make me stay were you are at now.
I can't recall anyone off hand that is running 35's with only a 2" either.

Thanks for the reply, I am really fighting some demons on this one, I hav etalked to several members with the 2" and the 35 BFG muds and they experience minor rubbing, but I can get them for 200 bucks, and if I have the company car I would not care about gas or the tire life/ If they dont work they will put the old ones back on and all I got to do is pay shipping on them to go back like 60 bucks. I have two more weeks before I gotto let him know. Decisions Decisions.

Smitty, I was going to 305/65/R18's but I would have to remove my mud guards that I just had painted about 6 months ago, so I don't want to take them off cuz they look so good on the truck.

The 305's had some minor rubbing when I turned to hard to the right. But after looking at the 285 beside my current 275 it was little over an 1" inch taller and I think is probably the perfect size tire for my truck.

Like you, decisions, decisions.

Good luck with yours brother.

I know, its tough. But it is so tempting because if i do the up grade I basiclly drove on these tires for free for like seven months, so I think that I might get, but I will let you guys know as soon as I find out.

Stragum,

Your inbox is full..

To answer your question, No, my red FX4 had 285's on it. It was lifted with a 2.5" Autospring front & 2" Skyjacker add-a-leaf for the rear.

OK I emptied my inbox.

I am looking at getting some 285's.

I have a 2" AS and 1 1/2 AAL in the rear.

The 285 would be perfect for my truck I think.

Do you have any close up shots of that tire on that red truck?

Great looking ride bro!

Stragum, I think that the 305's would look best on your truck, I have the 2" AS and no add a leafs in the back, but with the add a leaf the 305"s would look best. I rub zero. so the only down fall would be a little gas. Go for the 305's/

Smitty I tried on the 305's and I had some minor rubbing when turning. I have mud guards on my truck and they were hitting those as well when I turned.

So the 285's is probably what I am going with. I love the way they look on hmfic's red FX4 too.

In that case the 285's would be your best bet, either way I am sure your truck will look good, good luck with that, and lets see some pics.
