sorry to be so stupid

i know this has probably been beaten to death but i tried a number of searches and cannot find a straight answer.
With a leveling kit on a 2wd i can fit 285/70r17 on my stock wheels right, but what can i fit on my stock wheels on my 06 xl 2wd without a leveling kit?

again sorry for the redundent question

I believe you can fit 33s but it will be stuffed. Get a levling kit.

Yeah, 285's may fit a stock 4x2 using the oem wheels, but it will be tight. I'd suggest a 265/70-17.

awsome thanks all. i dont suppose anyone can think of anyone off hand to look at for a pic of what it would look like? Im trying to avoid the leveling kit because of the ball joint issue not to mention im cheap. Plus 31" tires are alot cheaper than 33's

Here's my '06 skrew with BFG AT 285/70/17's before the leveling kit. I had absolutely no rubbing whatsoever...

Here it is now with a 2" AS leveling kit...
