98 rear drum brakes
#1
98 rear drum brakes
98 f150 2wd rear drum- 2 wheel antilock.
Problem started when the left brake cable stuck. The left rear brake must have overheated and the lining came detached from the shoe. This came on suddenly. First the brakes felt a little funny and was getting a clicking sound up front when stopping. So when I got home I pulled the drums and found out about the lining and cable.
I replaced both drums, wheel cylinders, hardware, and shoes. Only a small amount of fluid was lost when replacing the cylinders and the resevior was always kept full. The brakes were thoroughly bleed and the old brake fluid purged from the system.
The brakes feel fine and it stops normally but I am still getting the clicking sound up front when the brakes are applied. It is a mechanical clicking. I do not feel a pulsating pedal.
