22's

Found a good deal on a set 22" wheels with 305/45/22's off an Expedition. Will these tires/wheels work on my '03 F-150 Supercrew? How much will I be able to lower it with the combo?
Thanks, Clint

305/45/22 is gonna be a tall tire, you might have a little rubbing, and you wont be able to go lower then 2/4 for sure, maybe not even 2/4

Go to the tire Company website and see the actual size of the tire. So you can decide if it will work.

They are Khumo's and their website doesn't give a diameter, just the width. They say 10-12.

305 is about 10.5" wide, and yes you will have rubbing issues at full steering lock. I have rubbing issues with my stock tires lowered 3/5 Stock rims are 7 or 7.5" wide for comparison

actually about 12-12.5'' wide. 305/45/22 is the size Wandell has on his expy and they fit great. I assume the expy they came off and your truck are both in the 97-03 range. otherwise they wouldn't fit. I don't know anything about lowering so I won't go there.

315s fit on an 11" rim with a little buldge making it a 12" wide tire

305s would be narrower then that

305 millimeter = 12.007 874 016 inch
315 millimeter = 12.401 574 803 inch

yes but the measurement is of the section width of the tire (the widest part of the sidewalls), not the actual tread width, so we are kinda agreeing to disagree right?

SECTION WIDTH
Definition: The distance between a tire's sidewalls measured at the widest part of the tire.

I guess. I am not trying to get into it with you, I was just stating what I always understood to be right.

yah if the sidewall look like this ( ) then the widest part isnt really the tread width. Its weird arguing about a .5" difference
