Tires for 20"s

06 Supercab 2wd,

Looking for a street/sport look, I don't want any rubbing and I"ll be transporting a motorcycle from time to time.

Should I go with : 285/50R20 or 275/55R20 ?

I know ride will be affected but I'm wondering how much...?

I've been getting mixed opinions, what do you guys think?

well the 275/55-20 is the stock size pirellis' that come on F150, Marklt, Navi, and Expeditions. I have my Mark lt dropped 2/5.5 and i dont have any rubbing with the stock 20's and 275/55. Is your truck stock height?

Both of those are the same height, but the 285's will be 10mm wider. Either will look and work fine. I'd suggest looking at the Falken ST/Z 04's. I love mine.

FordScrew how has the drop affected your ride, does it ride harder now?
Can you still transport heavy stuff.

I have the original suspension, I was thinking of lowering it depending on how it looks after the wheels.

But I also must be able to put my bike in the back with no problems.

Wandell, wouldn't a 55 be a bit taller than a 50...?

Yes, if you were comparing a 275/50-20 to a 275/55-20. The aspect ratio (50 and 55) is the percentage of the height in relation to the width (275 and 285). Since the 285/50-20 is wider, it works out to be almost the same height as the 275/55-20. You can get the exact height on the manufacturer's websites.

Yes the ride is a little harder now, but this is with stock shocks. I will be getting some rear shocks soon. Not too sure if i want to pick up some ground force air shocks or belltech street series yet. Right now the truck has about a 1" rake to it. Although i could level it with the second hole on the shackles, i left it like that incase i needed to tow or haul things. How much does the bike weigh? I had 4x80 lb bags of salt in the bed the other day, and it still had the 1" rake to it. The most that would really ever make it in the bed of my truck would be my YFZ450 race quad (FOR SALE).

oh and if you want to see what it would look like on the 20's stock and 2" drop shackled, check my gallery. I have yet to put pics of the full drop on. Which reminds me i am slacking.
