Coming home from Iraq, good by HMMWV Hello F150!

Finally after 14 Months in Iraq I will come home to my brand spankin new DSG Fx4 Scab. I bought it threw a military sales program. I will be saying good by to "Scarlett" thats my armored HMMWV (or hummer for you non-military) I named her after the gorgeous Scarlett Johanson. Good by IED's hello Off-Roading, and some dirt bike haulin' fun! Off course this is my favorite section and I plan and some new (woww another explosion somewhere in the city) wheels and tires. Plenty of wallet killing upgrades to come!

Thumbs up

Welcome home Warrior!!!

I did the same thing ... spent 7 months in Iraq, came home for 6 months and spent the next 18 months in Afghanistan. When I came home from Afg I bought my DSG SCrew! I hope you love yours as much as I love mine.

Take care and thanks for your service!!!

Yeah I was in kandahar for 12 months, for OEF V. A lot different then Iraq. I like your truck I have seen it before and actually have some of those pictures saved in a folder. Ive been saving some pictures of different setups that I might take into consideration. I have seen some people that have also stuffed the Nitto Terra 325/65 18's under a 2" as but with 4.5 backspacing I would assume there would be some rubbing. How does that setup work for you?

I was a Team Leader on a Convoy Security Team, I would "Gun" every now and then just to change things up. Usually I just man the Radio and tell my driver where to go and my gunner what to shoot at!
Yup thats me on the bottom right!

hey man, when you first get back, IF you drove alot or gunned alot, ( i had 186,000 logged miles over iraq, we were on CONSTANT 16hr patrols) take it easy driving when you first get back. i've been back going on 3 years and it's still hard for me sometimes....

you're just aware of EVERYTHING. so take it easy till your senses return to normal. If ya need to talk, pm me. I know how it feels and what you'll be going through.

remember, hurry up and wait. that's going to be the longest damn airplane ride you've ever taken

I can totally understand the "going around traffic at a red light," thats is so true, over here we dont stop for anything. "Traffic parts like the red sea, when we roll threw town." We only stop when trucks break down or get blown up, and thats about it. As far as the good Ol' M2, I really feel that it is a religous experience, truly trancending! If you go through life and never do anything except fire an M2 then you served your purpose! Yeah its that good! Maybe not as good as sliding into my sweet new sport leather captains chairs when I pick up ol "scarlett the second."(Thats what I am naming my F150, LOL)

the ma deuce does kick ***. know whats sad? i don't know if it's still like this or not but when we were there, all the units assigned to patrols within the city couldn't mount .50's and MK19's because of collateral damage.

I don't know if ya'lls ROE is still as much bull**** as ours were, but God i HOPE it's gotten better.

Remember a few years back when the french security forces rescued the journalist and was coming back into biap and they got shot?

that was us.
