35's on 07 fx4

What does 35's actually mean? Can I put these on my truck? It came with the 20" rims. I know they are bigger tires but how do you put in a size to order them? I want to lift my truck 3 inhes or so. thanks

35's refers to the tire hight, meaning that overall the tire is 35 inches tall. In order to fit 35's on the newer f150's it requires a lift kit. In my opinion, a 6 inch lift would be ideal, but they say that the 2.5 inch leveling kits for the front will allow enough clearance for 35 inch tires so there should be no rubbing on suspension/fender parts while turning or when the suspension is compressed. You can order traditional sizes like 35x12.50x20 (35" tall x 12.5" wide x 20" wheel) or you can order P-Metric sizes (which is what you truck came with) like 315/60R20 (34.9" tall x 12.4" wide x 20" wheel). There are hundreds of combination out there, it all depends on what you want or what you need in a tire.

You will need at the minimum a 2.5" Autospring Leveling kit to clear 35's. Remember, every truck sits slightly different so you may still not be able to clear the 35's with jus the 2.5" AS.

Here is info of what have done to my truck - lift measurements (before and after), 35's, etc.....
