Seriously
So I'm finally ready to order my tires. I call up Firestone, as I'm a big fan of the Bridgestone Dueler REVO's and tell the guy I have the 2.5 AS leveling kit with 3" blocks going in and I want a 33" tire to replace the stockers.
I've seen plenty of people running 33" tires with the leveling kit and having no issues. So I tell him I'm looking for the 285/70R17's, as I'm sticking with the stock rims for now.
Now please tell me if I lost my mind, but the guy tells me those tires won't fit. I get the whole, "Your gas mileage will suck and your speedometer blah blah blah", speech. I basically say I don't care about that. I want those tires.
He proceeds to tell me that the REVO's that come in that size are P285/70R17's and they aren't made for trucks and that they will not fit on stock 17" rims for the 04 FX4's.
Did I miss something or is this guy giving me the run around? All I need to know, from people who actually KNOW what they're talking about is:
With a 2.5 levleing kit + 3" blocks for the rear, will these P285/70R17's fit my truck without any issues? I can't get a straight answer out of the Firestone people and personally, I trust you guys here more then anyone else.
Thanks for hearing me vent.

He is both right, and totally full of Barbara Streisand...
According to the Bridgestone website, their 285/70R17s are approved for 7.5 to 9.5 inch wide rims. They are however a P metric (Passenger car) and not an LT metric (Light Truck) tire.
Yes they will fit, no they are not a true truck tire.
BUT, if you browse the Bridgestone website, their Passenger car rated Dueller AT Revo is one of two reccomended tires for the late model F150... I guess they think our trucks are nothing but a Crown Vicky with a big trunk...

So I assume 7.5 is the absolute smallest rim it could fit on? I thought I had a handle on this stuff but this guy at Firestone just scrambled my brain.
Here's the link to the size sheet for the Revo's in case I'm reading it wrong:

Man have I been pulling my hair out on this, haha. I don't do hardly any towing or carry any massive loads so I think I'm just going to order the P285/70R17's. With the truck leveled I think the 33's will fill it out much better.
Now I just need to convince the Firestone guy to just shut his yap and order me those tires whether the book says yes or no! haha
