Does this tread depth look like new tires?

These are pics of the Toyo M/T's I might buy. The guy says they have only 450miles on them. He sent some pics with a penny in the tread. Any opinions on how NEW? these are? Thanks.

Ask him for a pic with a tread depth gauge in the tread - then go to the tire website and look up the depth in the spec sheet for that specific model.

Be advised, even this isn't bulletproff - the pic could well be of another tire - buyer beware, lol.

I'm old-fashioned - I like to see what I'm buying first....

Good luck.

I'm not buying anything unless I see it first hand. Any other opinions of the depth using the penny?

Ok.

Go measure a penny - in 32'nds of an inch ( std tire depth unit used)

Estimate the depth via the pic and aformentioned measurement, AND the published depth from the manufacturer's website, because they all DIFFER.

Simple enough for ya?

They look more like 4500, not 450.

So looking at the website the tread depth is 21. If its measured in 1/32" then its actually between 1/2 and 3/4 inches deep brand new?? Looking at Tire Rack they show a picture that is the top of Linclon Memorial is covered then you have at least 6/32's left. That seems to be about the same amount shown left on his pictures. Everyone agree??

If I had to guess, I would say that those tires he is trying to sell you have about 15,000 miles on them. Mine have 9,000 and look like Keith's.
