Bridgestone vs Firestone

I am debating between Bridgestone Dueler Revos and the Firestone Destination A/Ts. I am stepping up to the 285/70 17s for my 03 FX4 SC. My local tire guy says go with the Bridgestones, but Tire rack shows slightly better ratings for the Firestones. I trust the guy, but his opinion, may be biased, as his bridgstones are a little more expensive.

I drive it back and forth to work, and the occational road trip. On road factors are more important the off-road capabilities.

thanks

Just picked up a set of 285/70R17 Revo's myself. Great looking tire IMO. I'll have them on next week to post pics.

I looked at both of those tires myself. I ended up with the Dueler's basically because I have a few friends that swear that they will die never owning another tire. Great all around tire and not overly noisy on the open road.

Cant say how great the Dueler Revos are...but had three sets on my 00 F150, and got 50k out of each set. Bought the insurance with one set. Went hunting two weeks later...Got fours flats, due to mesquite thorns, and had three tires replaced at no charge. If a tire has more than three punctures, they replace them...

I've had both but have the Firestone AT's on my new truck now and they do just as well as the Revos wet or dry. The Revos do have stronger sidewalls which are better for a lot of heavy hauling and offroading but makes them ride a little rougher on the highway. Only difference I can see is the price and I do more highway miles.

I've got the LT285/70-R17 Firestone A/Ts on my '04 and they have treated me well on dry/wet/snow/ice/mud here in Colorado. I don't imagine you can go wrong with either the Firestones or the Bridgestones though.

my destination at didnt last very long at 35000 and am down pretty low. Im switching to the revos hopefully they will last longer. The destinations are a great tire though you cant go wrong with them.

i just got the revos put on my truck. They dont ride as smooth as the destinations but they stick to the road like glue couldnt get them to spin. I got a great price on them though and i love them already they are a more aggressive tire than the destination. i paid 745 for four tires and a fuel filter out the door and every where else wanted over 800 for just the tires put on
