17" rims on 04 fx4
I came across a free set of 33x12.5x17 tires for my truck so I am going to buy some 17" wheels so I can use them. The problem I am having is every 17" wheel I see looks so small (I know they ARE small) but I want something that wont look out of place tiny. I tried to search for only 17's in the big show off your rims thread but it doesnt work. What are your opinions on 17's, which ones look the best without looking so small?

If you actually use that FX-4 off road, the taller sidewall of a 17" rim spec tire versus say a 20" gives you more flex, where the tire can wrap around an obstruction to grab onto it. Much better for trail riding and rock crawling (why you would take a full size pickup rock crawling I do not know, but you get the idea...)

dbhost I was just looking at your rims very closely actually and they look a little different than the ones on ebay. I really like the ones on ebay but there are a few different auctions and I really like them but yours look different. Maybe it is because they have tires mounted but they look really small compared to the ones for sale. I was really looking to get some just like yours but with a shallower lip. If you dont mind, where did you get yours and what did you give for em? Thanks

If I had it to do over again, I probably would have bought the Chrome version though. Less maintenence...

I'm rocking on some stockers with 33x12.50R17 Mickey Thompson Baja Radials, and 17's is 17's, just look for a rim that doesn't have a huge lip..look at the mickey thompson classic lock and classic lock II, u'll see that the classic lock makes the rim appear smaller, the classic lock II would appear bigger, and the rims would stick out more due to the backspacing (of 5.5 I believe) so again, the illusion of bigger
