Buying Used Tires

Hey, i was planning on buying some used tires for my truck because i'm poor right now and was wondering what to look for in regards to wear and tear. I found a few tires that are the size i wanted (285/75/16), but i don't want to get ripped of from buying wrecked tires.

Also, if i do find some tires, what back spacing should i get (i dont like it sticking out to far from the side of my truck, i think that looks ugly)? Also if anyone knows, how much of a difference is there in noise from BFG A/Ts to M/Ts. I've only heard A/Ts.

Thanks!

Tires don't have back spacing. Wheels do.

It looks like you already have 17" FX-4 wheels on that truck. Go with a 285/70R17 if you can find a set in good shape.

i'd look into one of those , 0% interest deals for 12 months. then you can buy what you want and pay later. i paid a little over a 100 bucks a tire when i bought my 285/75/16's Kumho Venture AT's

I got my Dunlop's for $60 a tire with 3/4's the tread left, they are about $120 new. Just look them over good for obvious signs of trouble. Bubbles, cupping, any funny wear and walk away, they are not worth messing with. Nothing wrong with used tires, just gotta check them over really good first.
