who runs there aftermarket chrome wheels through the winter?

Any of you run your aftermarket chrome wheels through the salt and sand in the winter? I have always taken my chrome wheels off and put the factorys back on. Now I am looking to put 37s on my chrome wheels and run 4.88 gears so i dont think ill be putting the facotry wheels back on in the winter any longer. I am just afraid that the salt and sand around here will kill my chrome wheels........
thoughts.....????

I run my polished alloys year round. But then again, I don't get snow... I do get salty sand year round though since I am right no Galveston Bay...

I run mine, although it can be tedious to keep up with them. I'm usually hosing them off a min of once a week. And waxing them every chance I get.

I made the mistake of leaving chrome wheels on my old truck one year and ruined them. If you have road salt, take 'em off.

My Mazzi hulks are DESTROYED after not being able to remove them the 1st winter. My wife was pregnant ( difficult pregnancy baby is fine ) I didnt have time to change them let alone wash them. Chrome wheels has to be removed to last.

Keep mine on both the F150 and the CJ5 year round. Keep them as clean as possible through the winter, but they do have some 'battle' scars. Given the vehicles' ages - figure that just shows 'experience'. :-)

spray some wd-40 on the entire rim after a wash, it forms a little protective layer from the elements. they'll get dirty faster(mostly from brake dust, it collects faster on the wd) but it'll wipe right off on your next wash. i usually go 2 to 3 weeks between washes in the winter. no rust in 3 years.

I take my off for the winter, but I was told to smear vaseline on them. It collects dirt and dust but protects them. Then comes spring hose it off.
