MB predators with M/T's fitment question

I'm looking at 20 x 8.5 MB Predators with 25mm of offset. That should make backspacing 5.25", right?

I'd like to wrap them in 33 x 12.50 Toyo M/Ts, but I'm worried about the side-biters rubbing.

Anyone?

BTW - plan on using a 2" Rancho Quick Lift

25mm offset on an 8.5 wheel is actually 5.75" of backspacing. As for rubbing, you'd better wait for Wandell or someone more qualified to answer that question...

Center of the wheel is 4.25" + 25mm (1") = 5.25".

This is where I have been going for offset/backspacing info:

or wait for Wandell, he is the guru...

According to that chart, zero offset on an 8.5" wheel is at 4.75", so adding the 25mm does make it 5.75", but that seems whacked. I thought that zero offset was the actual center of the wheel, which would be right at 4.25".

I agree with you, its not exactly logical. I don't remember the formula, but I am quite confident the chart is accurate based on research on this forum, and all the comparison shopping I have been doing (also looking at new wheels/tires).

I just put Toyo M/t's on with AR trax 20x10's with a 33"x12.5" tire and the rim has 5" backspacing. I had to do some minor trimming on the front plastic below the bumper but it was only like .25" at an angle. I used an AS 2.5" leveling kit.

As Shrkbait said, they have 5.75" of backspacing.

You're right. The formula is [(wheel width +1) / 2] + offset. Guess It's not happening. They'll rub for sure.

i got those same rims on my truck only with 305/55/R20 nitto terra grapplers, and i dont seem to have any rubbing issues, but it is a tight fit, the muds may rub due to the bigger lugs.

Any chance you could measure the clearance?

They will not rub. I have 35x12.50 R20 M/T's on the MB Predators and have no rubbing with a 2.5" AS up front. You will be fine with a 33x12.50 and the 2" lift.
