Question Which Auto Spring?

I posted this in the 2004+ forum, but then figured this would be better answered in this forum.
I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on an AutoSpring. It'll be a Christmas present. It'll be a new one with the offset design. I just have to decide on the size. I don't want any issues with the ball joints and all that, so I'm thinking 1.5 or 2. It really bothers me when the front sits higher than the back, even just a little, so I'm not sure about the 2.5. Plus there's the tire size issue. I've been looking at 285, 295, 305, 315, all 70 sidewall all for the stock 17" rims, or I'm thinking 35's.

Could you guys post up pics of the AUTOSPRING kit, on SuperCrews, and tell me the height of the spacer and the tire size you're running? It would make my decision a lot easier. Thanks.

MATTY !!!!
I'm getting my AS leveling kit for X-mas too. LoL
Go with the 2.5. Everyones pics I've seen on here look just right. It'll bring the truck to damn near dead level. Only down side I've read is when towing you'll have the nose up. But how often do we tow...... and for how long if and when?
As for tires. Peek at Joey's. He's got the STT 35's on his 250, those are what I'm going with on my stock FX4 rims. I was into the Toyo's, but while shopping them, I'm finding about a whole tires price difference between them.
Tires are like breast implants. I don't wanna shell out the cash and get them all finished, and turn around and wish I had gone bigger for just a few more bucks at the time I was having them done. Ya know?
Lemme know what you decide, and I can't wait to see it when you're finished!

Another thing you might consider is the rear 3" blocks autospringcorp sells for the 4x4. They replace the stock 1.5 inchers adding 1.5" total lift in the rear. I did the 2.5" as on the front, 4x4 3" blocks on the rear and measured 2" total lift at the midpoint of the truck. It is very slightly tail high now, but less than stock. I think it looks perfect. It's also very easy to do yourselt if you have the tools, and my ride is still stock smooth. I spent less than 200 bucks total to do both front and rear, couldn't be happier..... except now that I am so spoiled getting such great results for so little $ I am having a hard time shelling out $1400+ for the new stinking tires! Anyone in AZ have nice 325 60 20's or 285 65 20's they want to give away cheaply? We'll be friends for life!

I'd go with the 2", or a 2.5" with rear blocks/AAL. I did the 2", and my front end is maybe .5" lower than the back. With the 2.5" it seems that all it takes is a person riding in the back to make the rear look lower (too me at least). I have the 2" with 275-70-18 Toyo Open County AT's (33.2" tall) and am very happy with the stance. A couple more pics in my gallery. None of the angles, but they don't look severe at all.

If I went with the 2" would I have any trouble with 305/70/17 on the stock rims?

I think you would be fine with that size. Its only 33.8 x 12, and some guys fit 35 x 12.5's on with only minor rubbing. My tires are 33.2 and I have plenty of clearance.

I went with the 2.5" kit and the back still sits about half or 3/4 of an inch taller. It really just depends on your specific truck. Every one will be slightly different. Plus if you get the 2.5" kit and then you need an extra inch or something just throw in a taller block or an AAL. They are all cheap and super easy to install. I didn't need to do a taller block on mine, but the option is always there

I would deffinately go at least 2" for a near 34" tire. With the 2 your front will not sit too high, and teh angles are not severe.
