My tires are crap!-Help, advice please
I purchased a 2001 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 with 8ft bed in July of 07. The truck came with a set of Goodyear Rts's 265's. I think these things are crap. My tires are already spinning and that's just in the rain. I don't want to think about the snow!?! I'm looking at buying 4 new tires and have been focusing my attention, and checkbook, towards BFG's or Coopers. Most of my driving is on road but I do venture off-road during the hunting season (now). I need a set of tires that can do both and won't get destroyed in corn fields, can take snow drifts, and pull a boat. Any suggestions???
Thanks

You'll never beat the value of the Firestone Destination A/T. Dstination A/T, Silent Armor, Revo all handily beat the BFG AT KO.

i just got GY silent armors put on my truck and i love em. they handle great in just about anything. and when you hit the freeway they are silent. they also come with a great warranty if you get the pro-grade. i had the BFG TAKOs and they kill gas mileage and hum quite a bit on the freeway. iv also heard great things about the firestones and bridgestone revos. i stay away from bridgestone personally because my buddy put his car into a railing running bridgestone potanzas. he was doin 20 mph in the rain. in the end i chose the silent armors for the warrenty and because they are mountain snowflake certified for sever weather

I just put 295/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my F150, it has an 8ft bed too and an 02' I paid $715 shipped to my door from ebay and another $50 to have them installed. I went from those stock 265s as well, i have some pics in my gallery, but the truck does look a little bigger than the pics show.

I also added 295/70-17 Nitto Terra Grapplers to my truck recently. I love 'em. I had the same problems you have with my stock 265's. My tires would spin ridiculously in the least bit of wet weather. I had my truck get sideways several times on the interstate after a little sun shower, just by putting my foot into it to pass. These new TG's never break traction, they are great looking, and they make my truck look more aggressive. I paid $739 out the door for my set. I like 'em better than my BFG A/T's I had on my Bronco.

Your truck looks great! I'm hoping to get those tires for my truck soon. May I ask where you got them from? Seems like you paid $150 less than I was quoted from my local tire shop.
