same ole' same ole'...another wheel/tire question..
...ok so im new to the site and ive been looking at mostly every single thread trying to understand this stuff..but i still need an exact answer before i go and do something stupid..my question is..i have a 3 inch body lift on my 06 f150 xlt 4x2..current tire size i have is {285-70-17) i want to know..if this is even possible?.. plus if i get bigger tires and rims, do i need to change (gears) and how much does it cost?

Regearing isn't necessary, but it depends on how you like the drive of your vehicle with the tires/wheels. Is it manageable? Is it annoying?
Shops usually charge around 500$ for installation of gears - roughly. It will depend on your area, how good they are, etc. Gears are usually about 200$ additional.
