Advice on my new truck

I just recently bought a 2001 F150 w/ low mileage. Ive already found out this is going to be a money pit but I love it. I had Flowmaster exhaust installed on my way home from the dealer. I want to do a lift and new tires. Any suggestions? Ive seemed impressed by the skyjacker 6 in lift w/ a 3 in body lift on 38 or 39 Toyo Mt's. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated.

Most people agree that the 6 inch Fabtech and the RCD lifts are the best for our trucks. Not saying the Skyjacker is a bad lift, but I've just read a ton of extremely satisfied post and reviews by Fabtech and RCD owners. If you combine one of those lifts with a 3 inch PA body lifts, you will be able to clear (barely) a 38x15.50 tire on a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing.
Also, welcome to the site.

Nothing will take the place of regearing. Especially when you go to a 37 inch tire or larger. There are a lot of use here with 35's and stock gearing. Some of us say our performance is "ok", some say "it sux", but no one is bragging about our trucks being a rocketship. You best bet is to regear and then add a tuner to correct the speedometer/odometer.

X2^^^
You will need gears for sure if you run a 37 or 38 inch tires. The performance with stock gears is nothing to brag about with just 35's to say the least IMO.
You need like 4.88 gears for that size tire.
