TPMS Bands...HELP!

I just purchased a 2008 Ford F-150 with the ugly 17" steel wheels.

I purchased some aftermarket 17" wheels and need to get them installed.

The TPMS sensor is held on to the wheel with the metal band. I called the local Ford dealership and they said that it would be no problem to use the old band since the wheel sizes are the same. Do they know what they are talking about?

I have been told about 10 different things....four dealerships told me they can't be reused. 3 dealerships told me they CAN be reused if the wheel sizes are the same.

Someone that knows about this please help!

Thanks!

Discount Tire will sell you the band that you can use yourself for like $5.

NTB and Tire Kingdom can get them also...but they want about $20 each.

It's essentially a huge hose clamp.

Position the sensor 180 degrees from the valve stem.

Reset the system.
