Cons of Torsion Bar

Hey, i was planning on getting some new 285/75/16 tires and cranking up my torsion bars, but i was wondering what are the cons of doing this? I'd imagine the ride would be stiffer, but what about if you bottom out? Also how bad is it for wear and tear on the truck? Wouldn't ford do this from the get-go then? I know you have to get a realignment, but does that fix everything?

Thanks.

It will make the initial portion of the suspension's travel slightly stiffer. If you crank them up too far, you can crease some severe CV joint and ball joint angles which will cause increased wear on those components. Also, every truck seems to be adjusted differently from the factory, so you could say Ford does "crank them up" on some trucks.
