How do I improve the brakes?

I'm running 35's now, and the braking is less than exceptional? Anything that I can do to improve feel, and cut braking distances?

Drive slower? Look ahead? Take it out of overdrive when you slowdown?

Higher friction pads like EBC Greenstuffs, and some drilled / slotted rotors should help.

they make bigger brakes for out truck, but 2 catches to that cost and they have to run a big rim.

check out http://www.ssbrakes.com/ They make a complete kit to make you and a huge trailer come to a stop. they also sell components of the kit (rotors, pads calipers) if you want to put it together yourself or just over time. You could also just buy some upgraded pads. Slotted rotors are nice for dissapating heat but personally I would steer clear of any type of cross drilled rotors.

I personally think that cross drilled rotors are a waste of money, but I'm looking at that from a sports car racing perspective.

I'm going to try pads and go from there...

Not only are cross drilled a waste of many, we have seen Mercedes with the AMG package come in (factory slotted and cross drilled) and there are small hairline fractures and cracks surrounding some of the holes. That could end in a very bad way if you don't catch it soon enough. Cross drilled = bad slotted = good. This is just my opinon. SSBC has some of the best braking equipment around IMO

So what pads are you going with?

I agree, really, all these cross drilled and or slotted rotors are splitting hairs in whether they help or not. Even pads, different materials may give a slight improvement at what cost? More dust, noise, increased wear? The only way to get improved braking is a larger rotor, larger more pistons caliper. That is for people with money. For those without, pay more attention, drive defensively and quit racing for red lights. If you need more brakes, wtf is going on around you? If you are going to hit someone or something, it isn't because you shoulda got those fancy rotors that will make you stop 2 inches shorter, no. More factors contribute to it, one bieng bad luck. Another reason is that the stupid retard who makes you stand on your brakes shouldn't be on the road in the first place. When you drive tractor-trailer, brakes and planning become very important I've learned.
