3" Skyjacker Suspension Lift 35" Tires MPG effected

Sup guys, new to the forums but have been readin for a while. I have a 2005 F150 xlt 4x4 5.4L V8. been thinkin about gettin a 3" skyjacker suspension lift, a 2.5 leveling kit and 34-36" tires on it. was wondering with the rediculous gas prices i already pay now, how much of a difference doin this project would decrease my gas mileage? any help appreciated! thanks.

Howdy and welcome.

The 3" Skyjacker will not work with the 2.5" spacer as it basically does the same thing, just in a different spot on your shock/strut setup. I'd either get an actual suspension lift or just the spacer.

yes it is a suspesion lift but u will have very bad angles on all ball joints and cv's with skyjacker 3' suspesion lift, there is no way everything will bolt back together with the 3' skyjacker and 2.5 leveling kit imo find a better suspension lift. as per gas mileage, it wont effect it much. maybe 1/2 a mpg effect.

yes, i love my procomp, the only thing i would change is instead of having the big spacer, having some fabtech coilovers, but with the setup i have im having 12-14mpg.

It might technically be considered a suspension lift, but it does not relocate the front differential or include longer steering spindles as the "true" suspension lifts do, therefore it creates unusual and potentially harmful angles on your 4x4 and steering components.

I lost 2.5 mpgs with my 35's. 3.73 rear end.

I lost roughly 2 mpg mainly in stop and go driving, not too bad on the highway once you get going.

As already stated the SJ 3" "lift" can not be used in conjuction with another leveling kit. The skyjacker is basically a leveling kit, only it uses a new coilover setup, much like putting in the 2" bilsteins or rancho coilovers.

A 2.5" Autospring will net you approx 3 inches of lift as well. I have had both, in the same truck (at different times) on a 2005 FX4 Screw. (pics in gallary). The Autospring actually netted a hair higher than the Skyjacker, but with a much better ride in my opinion.

This 2.5 - 3" with either lift is the most you would ever want to go without dropping the lower control arms which a "real lift" would do such as the pro-comp, fabtech, rancho, 6" skyjacker, BDS, etc. So basically you would not want to stack them. It is physically unable to do it anyways.
