So the dash light for *brake* is on. It is from the emergancy brake bracket on left kick panel on my 99 Expy Eddie Bauer. When I release the ebrake, I can put my foot under the pedal and lift up and the light goes away. I tried to remove the entire bracket and readjust/reattach. still have the light. The electrical connection is tight. I thought it may have an old style adjustable threaded post with a locknut. Could not find one. Any ideas?

the springs are integrated into the cables leading to the back brakes.

 

Thanks 4.2xl...does this mean that I must replace the front e-brake cable to rid myself of this issue?
