Will 35's rub on a leveled 4x4?

I have a 2007 4x4 Xlt and I'm in the market for tires and wheels. My plan is to level it with the pro comp 3" spacer kit. I was planning on some 20" motometals or monsters, but I dont know if I should get 33 or 35 inch Toyo Open Country Mt's. Will the 35's rub at all. I dont really feel like cutting up my wheel wells but 35's look really good. What should I do about backspacing and offset?

As a general rule on the new 4x4s, with a leveling kit you can fit 35x12.50's using the oem wheels or 33's with aftermarket wheels. The reason is wheel width and backspacing. The oem 17 and 18 inch wheels are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing. I'm not positive, but I believe the OEM 20's are 8.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of bs. Your best bet will be to use 33's.
When running 35's, they will rub on the control arms at full steering lock, but you have to expect minor rubbing when trying to fit a 35 inch tire on a stock truck. If you try to fit 35's with aftermarket wheels, you will have to find one with almost identical specs as the oem wheel.

x2 !!

You'll probably only need 2" to level it. Word is that that late 06+ have 1/2" less rake.

Yeah I guess I'll just go with 33's on 18's. Should look fine. But wouldn't the 3 inch level kinda give it a pre-runner look, with front end raised up a little more than the rear?

Nothing wrong with 33's except the set I have look's a little lost in the wheelwell's compared to a 34 or 35" tire. If you do a lot of towing or rough offroading a 33 inch tire is probably better for you (more clearance and less performance and mpg loss) 35's are better on a truck with a suspension lift and that have been re-geared.

A big part of that "prerunner" look is the front fender being cut up high for suspension travel. Without it, your truck is just going to look like it has its nose in the air. It makes our trucks look like they're squatting.

Yeah...good point there....without king shocks and extended front end...it would look kinda weird....I'll just go with the 2.5".

i have the pro comp 3" leveling kit for my truck and it sits level. pro comp says you can run a 35 with it but i went with 33 and by looking at mine it would be close. but there shouldnt be any problems using this kit.

2x4 or 4x4? a 3'' level on a 2x4 will allow only 33''s

Hey man, just thought I'd let you know that your camera link to your gallery actually leads you to the gallery mainpage and not your gallery.
