A programmer will be a big help. Do you notice any sluggishness and is it downshifting all the time or searching for a lower gear when it shouldnt be?
Most ppl that go with 35s and have the 5.4 litre do not change gears. That is the main reaason for chosing the 35s over the 37s. You probably already have 3.73s so that is not a bad gear for 35s. In thew future if you decide to go bigger and put a 3" lift on top of the 6" and go to 37s, then you will definately want ot regear, but I dont think it is necessary now.

A lot depends on how you use your truck as well as your powertrain. I have a 5.4, 35's and 3.55 gears and am happy but I don't tow/haul.

i dont tow or haul much of anything either. The only thng i would be hauling would be a fourwheeler in the bed maybe a couple times a month. The truck is mainly for looks, i just dont want to spend 2k on transmission problems, or having to change out the gears.

The 5.4 and 3.73 gears will help you get by, a programmer can adjust your shift point's to make driving with 35's bearable. Towing over 3k pound's is a no-no. It's really a electronic fix to a mechanical problem. Re-gearing would always be better. Just my 2 cent's!

the problem with regearing for me is that is soo expensive, and i just spent all my money on the lift tires and wheels. Will the programmer solve my future tranny problems? If so which programmer will i need?

I like my Edge Evolution, I have 35's and a 3.73 rear and at least it make's it shift a lot better but anytime you go to taller and heavier tires it is better to re-gear to keep your rpm's more in the power-band. Taller tires reduce your final rear end ratio and drop your crusing rpm's too low sometimes.

There should be a tag on the rear end housing and a code on the door jamb. Check it out ,then go get some pics of your truck! Got to get back to work.
