aftermarket wheels size?

everyone keeps telling me to get new rims with my tires and I'm looking at the black moto metals and the rockstars or the monsters in the 18's. I will probably go with a 325 60 18 tire. Now the truck.. 2005 FX4 WITH A 2" leveling kit from a.s. . I want them to stick out enough to look cool, but a resonable amount, not ridiculous. Plus I don't mind triming but I don't want to be doing mass amounts of it. What size backspacing should I go for? and what are your opinions on those rims?

i have the same as you. '06 XLT 4x4 with a 2.5" leveling kit. just ordered the 18x9 XD Monsters with a +18 offset. from what ive read and asked, they should stick out as much as my current set up. check my gallery (camera at the corner).

so bascially need a 5.71" backspacing? as 6" would look too stock, and 4.75" would rub.. correct?

I agree. I'd go with a 9 inch wide wheel with 5 to 6 inches of backspacing. To give you an idea, your OEM wheel is 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of bs. So, a 18x9 with 5.5 inches of bs will stick out 1.5 inches farther than the oem wheels.

A 9 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of bs is gonna stick out 2.5 inches farther than the oem wheels. A 9 inch wide wheel with 6.18 inches of bs is gonna stick out about an inch farther than the oem wheels.

so wouldnt the 6.18" bs put the tire/wheel too close to the upper control arm?
