The Ford truck TPMS thread
For the new trucks and cars Ford uses a cradle based system where the sensor is installed into a cradle. The cradle is then strapped to the wheel with a band. Ford OE bands and cradles can only be used once, so if you move the sensors you will have to buy new bands and cradles. Also, if you move up in wheel size you will have to buy new bands and cradles. We have an aftermarket band that will fit any wheel 14-26". The system looks like this:
Here's the sensor:
Here's the cradle. You can see the adhesive strip on this one. if removed from the wheel the cradle will slide around the wheel, knocking it out of balance. So when moving wheels you will either have to buy new cradles or clean them and use double sided tape to hold them still.
Here's the cradle banded to the wheel:
Here's all of it together:
If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me.

In my case, the warning light comes and goes. If it comes on, its after about 15-20 minutes of driving. Im waiting to get a custom tuner once available for the 08's and Im hoping there is a way to kill the light. Im not going to go through the hassle of buying new sensors and remounting/balancing the tires.
BTW was the mentioned price for the sensors per tire?

Well, at least you know we have the parts in case you want to put them back in your wheels.
