Will this work - 325/65/18s on stock wheels

I just want to know if with a 2.5" leveling kit on a 2004 4x4 if 325/65/18s will fit on the stock lariat wheels?

Has anyone tried this setup? If so, is there any trimming involved?

Thanks for any advice.

a 35x12.50 will fit with 2.5" leveling kit with minor rubbing on the uca at full lock...you should be able to squeeze those in there, but expect some rubbing on the uca.

My main concern was that tire fitting on the stock wheel - I'm guessing there isn't a problem there?

I don't mind a little rubbing on the control arm. But is there a better option out there for a bigger tire but wanting to run on the oem wheels?

You are right. A 325mm wide tire is a little too wide for a 7.5 inch wide wheel. A 35x12.50-18 is pushing the envelope. I wouldn't go any wider unless you plan on new wheels and a lift kit in the very near future.

there are numerous members here that have put 35x12.5 on the stock 18" wheels without problems.

Is anyone on here running the 305/65/18? Which is a 33.5/12

The 325/65 is more like a 34.5/12.5

Dpes this 1/2 inch in width make that much difference? I'd really like to have the extra 1 inch in diameter, but I don't want the tire to not fit right either.

I don't know how to search member profiles, but i've been looking through old posts for like 2 hrs trying to get more info.

A 325/65-18 is actually more like a 35x13.00-18 tire. Like gonefishin10 said, many members have run 35x12.50's on oem 7.5 inch wide wheels without any problems, but that is pushing it. Also a few members do have the 305/65-18 (34x12.50) BFG AT KO's.

Actually did a search for 35/12.5 tires and found the BFG MT KM2 and if the 35/12.5s fit just fine - that might be the tire for me.

TireRack has it for $300 - does anyone know a cheaper place or is that a pretty good price? I've actually never bought tires before, so this is all new to me.

Thanks,

You need a minimum of a 9" wide wheel for the 325 tire to safely fit the wheel. The stock wheels are 8" wide. It's not recommended. Doing so will stress the shoulder are of the tire and could result in premature wear and/or heat problems.

35 x 12.5 needs an 8" wheel.

Thanks,
well good luck with the tire rack for shipping because they told me the only way to ship them is truck freight to a business which I have, but you may not. Then he said only with a forklift at my disposal, which I have. And lots of other questions. It was almost like he was trying to talk me out of buying them. But it ended up being alot for shipping. They said they cannot be shipped ups ground, which is weird because every other online place I have contacted said no problem and most said free shipping for ups ground, and they said that the 305's where only 55 dollars total cheaper for 4 tires then the 35's delivered to my door which didn't sound right, and was not the case with any other tires places online... I wish there was a costcos anywhere near me...

Well I'm in Houston, so I'm sure we have a CostCo somewhere. Thanks for all of the help everyone. I'm 99% sure when I get back home that I'm going to be buying a set of the 35/12.5 BFGs

CRF250rider1000 - how much did you end up paying for your set? Your truck looks tough with those tires on too, that is exactly what I'm wanting on my truck.

Anyone know what time of wear to expect on the BFG? I've never heard anything but good things about BFG, but I wanted to ask. My girlfriend has a Wrangler that we lifted and put 33/12.5 ProComp MTs on and I think we'll be lucky if she gets 25K miles out of them.
