good deal ??

17x9 Moto Metal 957's

Im thinking 285/70/17's since my truck isnt going to get lifted for now, i cant afford to both at once. however i will being doing the AutoSpring 2.5" spacer instead.

Nitto Tires Terra Grappler AT 285/70 17 $ 1570.00

Goodyear Tires Wrangler MT/R 285/70 17 $ 1730.00

Nitto Tires Dune Grappler 285/70 17 $ 1690.00

Toyo Tires Open Country AT 285/70 17 $ 1506.00

Cooper Tires Discoverer STT 285/70 17 $ 1690.00

BFGoodrich Tires All Terrain T/A KO 285/70 17 $ 1650.00

BFGoodrich Tires Mud Terrain T/A KM 285/70 17 $ 1630.00

Radial Crusher 285/70 17 $ 1790.00

Mud Country 285/70 17 $ 1670.00

**** Cepek Tires Radial Crusher 285/70 17 $ 1790.00

**** Cepek Tires Mud Country 285/70 17 $ 1670.00

Mickey Thompson Baja Radial ATZ 285/70 17 $ 1770.00

Package prices include 4 wheels, 4 tires, caps, and lug nuts. Lockset may be purchased for $35 extra.

Any of those prices catch your eye as a good deal? I need to do some searching for just tire prices, but the rims i can pick up for $155 a piece. If i can find some 285/70/17's for under $200 a piece i would be better off buying seperate i think.

Whats your opinions?

Nice lookin' wheels, I would also check out the 295x70x17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. A slight bit larger than the 285's. Look's like good prices to me.

Thats one of my favorite wheels, just sux that they dont make it for my year or would be after some them for mine. Tire wise you have alot of good options there.

well i have done some more research, and im finding out that those prices are anywhere from $150-$250 higher than if i bought the rims seperate from the tires.

however, then i would have to figure in mounting and balancing, getting a set of lug nuts, and shipping (tires & wheels seperate instead of all in one shot)

So i think for the hassle and time that it cuts down it would be a very fair deal. But i did find some BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2's (285-70-17's) for $213 at Tire Rack and the place i want to get the rims from dont have those for an option in that size.

UUUUUGGGGHHHH! Talk about pulling out your hair when your trying to get just the right set up at a good price.

I think i might just go the route of doing everything seperate after all.

They'll fit, but less backspacing means they'll stick out farther. A 9" wheel with 4.53" bs will stick out 2.5" more than stock. Not everyone likes that look, because now they're not tucked under the fender any more.
