Maximum tire size for 2002 FX4 F150

According to my door sticker i have 17 x 7.5 stock rims and currently have 265/70/17 tires on my truck. What is the maximum tire size i can put on these rims? And will that tire fit underneath as the spare? Thanks.

YOu can fit up to a 315/70-17 (35x12.50) tire by using the OEM wheels. However, this is an extremely tight fit and they will rub the frame at full steering lock. You can also fit this in the stock spare location unless you have had some custom exhaust work done. Personally, I'd go with something slightly smaller.

Is that tire size you listed, with or without the 3" body lift?

He has that size but yeah does have a body lift. That size will fit using the stock wheels VERY tightly and will rub the frame a full lock. Thats why he said to go with something slightly smaller. The best alternative is a 33x12.5 on the stock 17s. Thats what I have and they don't rub at all. I would suggest cranking the torsion bars to level the truck out first but not absolutely required and if you do, get an alignment after.
