trying to figure offsets

I just swapped rims and tires with a member i went from oem20's with 275/65/20 to fx4 rims with 305/65/18 bfgoodrich a/t.Im really not likeing the look of the fx4 rims but i love the tires.Im running a 2 1/2 leveling kit now i want to bring the tire out to at least the edge of fender or a bit more.Im lookingat a few different rims.xd hoss in black and american racing mace.I just need to know what offset and rims size 18x9,18x8.5 etc....and what offset are the factory fx4 rims. This is what it looks like right now.

Yes you are correct. If you want your wheels to stick out some then the higher offset will bring it right on out. If you are in need of some wheels, give us a call and we can hook you up with some for a good price. If you have any other ques tions feel free to ask and hope we can help you with anything.

A +44 will be tucked under your truck. If you want it to be sticking out you need it to be a lower offset such as the +30 or even further the +18. The lower the number gets with the - sticks out further form the vehicle. the highe the number with a + will get you tucked under. Sorry i confused the matter. I completely worded it wrong in my last post..

if you want wheels to go under you vehicle high off sets such as a +60 is going to be tucked way under the fender
a -60 is going to stick WAY WAY OUT FROM UNDER YOUR TRUCK.
IM trying to make this clear but typing totlay the opposite of what i meant. Ima retard!!!

The stock FX4 rims are 7.5" inches wide and have 5.5" of backspacing

Backspacing is so much easier to understand and visualize.

Lower offset, not higher = further out

Yeah i was doing a bazillion things at once and was writing several differant things at once. I corrected myself later.
Yes low offset equals further away from vehicle
and high offset gets it closer to the vehicle.

Like i said im special sometimes.
