Questions regarding 22s

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the forums, but the information y'all have on here is fantastic. Over the last few days I've been contemplating whether to put 20" rims with some nice M/Ts (with a 2.5 AS) or get 22" with street tires. I bought a black 08 FX2 in December and I love it. However, I've never been one to keep my daily driver stock. But, I've been rotting in a sedan for a few years prior to my FX2 so a lot of wheel/offset/tire info doesn't apply. Anyhow, I was hoping some of you could help me.

Here are my questions:
1) I would like to get 22x10 BZO Fortune rims (Black) but I know nothing about spacing. I don't want my rims to stick out very far. There is a 20x8.5, would that be a better fit on a stock 2wd?
2) I really don't like "rubberband" tires and so the size I'm going for is a 305/40/R22. This should fill up the wheel well pretty well and still look like a "meaty" tire. What are some good tires out there? There are wheel packages with my preferred rim that come with some Falkens but a co-worker has told me they're junk.
3) I've checked the gallery to see if anyone has these rims on their trucks and came out empty handed. Anyone seen these before?

Thanks!

Oh, and I almost forgot. Do the 22s rub when turning? I don't mind a slight rub when doing a hard U-turn but rubbing when trying to get out of the drive way is a bit much...

My 22's are 9.5 inches wide with 6.7 inches of backspacing. That is what I'd go with personally. I also have Falken STZ/04 tires and love them.

I have a 2/5 drop and I dont rub at all on 22's. I have 305/40/22 Yokohama Parada tires. Really good, quiet tire but pricey. Toyo Proxys ST tires are good and so are the Falkens and Nittos. Kuhmo STX's are OK. More road noise than the Toyos and Yokohamas. Cooper makes a good inexpensive tire. Stay away from Wanali and Nankang. If you dont plan on lowering your truck or just install rear drop shackles I would get a 305/45/22 tire. It will fill out the wheel wells a little better. A 305/45/22 has a 32.8 inch diameter compared to the 305/40/22's 31.6
Heres a pic of my set up. More pics in my gallery.

I second the Yokohama Parada tires. I just had them put on my truck, real nice tires.

Thanks for the tips! I was actually at a car wash yesterday (I live in an apartment so washing my truck myself is pretty difficult) and a F-150 rolled up on 22"s. Just like you had mentioned, he was rolling on 305/45/R22. The size looked nice, but the the driver's taste in rims was...well....lacking. If I go the 305/45/R22 route, there won't be any modifications to the wheel well or leveling the front end, will there?

PS - Sorry for the late reply, I was at my girlfriend's this weekend and she doesn't have the internet...or cable TV...

Since you have a 4x2, I'd go with a 305/40-22 which is just an inch shorter than the 305/45-22.
