Im lost in picking a tire/wheel/spacer selection, I need help.
First of all I guess going from a 18 inch wheel to a 20 inch wheel is not going to make much of a difference, as some of the tires for a 18 vs 20 are rated to carry the same weight.
Since I will be keeping my stockers for winter driving and using whatever I get for the summer, getting a 20 inch wheel may not matter.
My first thoughts were to maintain my stock weight carrying capacity and stick with the 18s. I thought going to a 20 inch wheel (according to ford brochure) reduces your towing capacity by 500 pounds, but then when you look at some tires, some of the 18 inch tires are rated less then a 20 inch tire.
To throw in the mix, im either getting a 1-1/2 level or a 2inch level for the truck so I guess the tire size is going to have a effect on the size level I get.
So what am I to do, I just cant figure this tire/wheel/spacer/weight ratio thing out.

one thing to look at with capacities and towing; the added reciprocating mass is more or less what lowers towing. Sure, you can find tires and wheels that are rated for the same weights. But the engine is going to be strained, if even just a lit bit, more. Also, your braking performance will be reduced, regardless of towing or not. Ford just doesn't RECOMMEND doing it, because you know someone will put some 22's on there, and say "well my such-and-such blew up when i was towing a HOUSE, and you said i could, then my truck wouldnt stop."
I ran a 2" level on 33x12.5R17 on my 03 FX4. Could tow, start, and stop just as effective. After 32k miles, my front brakes still had 48% life left. Mileage didn't change, thank goodness. And it looked pretty slick.
