Tire/Rim plans for 05 F150

Ok, wanted to post and make sure that what I'm thinking is going to work ok.

Have an 05 F150 SC that I'm planning on getting a set of MT MTZ's 315/70R17's on either the Moto Metal 951s or 958s (17x9s ) and putting on a leveling kit. Plan on installing either a 4" or 6" lift later on. Any issues with this that anyone can think of? Am I ok with the backspacing of these rims?

Thanks,
Nathan

I do like the 958's. but I did not like the backspacing. I believe they have 4.5 inch backspacing if I remember from when I was looking at them. that will put the rim sticking out from your fender about 2.5 inches further than the stock rim which I thought was too much for me although it might be ok for you. I think you may have rubbing issues with those tires on those rims. I have heard they will fit ok on stock rims but on some aftermarket wider rims there may be rubbing issues.

I doubt you will fit that combo with a leveling kit unless the MM wheel is almost identical to the oem wheel's specs. I'd suggest adding a leveling kit and running the tires on the oem wheels. Then add the suspension lift and MM wheels at the same time.

If you want that combo to work you will have to do the lift kit before you put the wheels and tires on.

The 17x9 958's have a 5.47" backspacing with a -12 offset. Still a no go?

I didn't think I could do that tire on the stock rims. Aren't the stocks 7.5" wide? MT recommends an 8.5-10" rim width. This sounds like it might be my best option right now.

What about other rim suggestions? I'm not married to the MM's, yet...

No, you need something like a 8 inch wide wheel with 5.5 inches of bs.

YOu will need at least a leeling kit to get the 958 with a -12 offset. You will have someminor rubbing issues.
