04-08 Stage 2 Brake Upgrade and some good reading material

We at ModBargains have put together this Stoptech/Centric Stage 2 Performance brake upgrade.

Included in the kit is the following;

-Stoptech slotted front and rear rotors
-Centric Posi-Quiet brake pads
-Stainless steel brake lines
-3 bottles of Motul high temp brake fluid

do you know how much the labor on a brake job usually is? Ford and my local mechanic just quoted me 700 to do both axles (new pads roters everything) im thinking this could be about the same and get some better quality brakes

I'd say 200 MAX on labor. With this you're also getting the stainless steel brake lines and better quality brake fluid. With heavy trucks, especially with trailers, the brake fluid needs to be able to handle the heat under heavy braking conditions.

can you substitute longer SS lines to accomodate those of us with lifted trucks? If so, how much more are we talking?

I will look into this for you, but it shouldn't be a problem. How much longer will you need?

I had all my brakes done, including swapping lines and bleeding brakes for about $230, with a new spring kit for the rear (rear drums).... So my original estimate wasnt too far off.
