Nitto muds are great-lookin', but don't forget about Cooper STT! I haven't had them on very long, but I can tell you that they're barely louder then my REVOs were, and they ride great

They ride like A/Ts and I can barely hear them. Couldn't be happier. Do a search and you'll find lots of positive reviews. That's what sold me.

The mud grapplers are a LOT better off the pavement so i guess it really depends what u want to do with your truck.
Yeah if you run them totally bald. Ive never heard of anyone getting more than 30k out of them and from the trucks ive drove offraod with the mud graps work but no better than any of the tires i had listed and definitely no better than a Super Swamper TSL, SX, SSR, Bogger. From the people i know that have them they are hard to balance, throw wheel wieghts, LOUD, wear out in weird patterns and arent "great" offroad. A BFG KM2 will do much better offroad and on road.

I will give you this the Nitto Mud Grapplers are one of the meanest looking tire made.

also check out the Hanook Dynapro's

I have been watching this thread and reading the replys because I am considering going with the mud grapplers as well. I really wish I could ride in a truck that had a set so I could hear the noise for myself, but not many trucks out here with those tires. Probably will go with the Toyo MT's as a compromise cause I want something a little more agressive then my last set of Pro Comp Xtreme AT's.

In Tampa those tires are everywhere! and they will drown out my radio from in the cab. I think they are louder than Swampers (except boggers)

im going with mud grapplers and if i dont like them ill just go with something different.especially if they dont last long anyway.there looks and the good pricing im getting on them is swaying them my way.a guy i work with has them on his hummer and he did say they are loud but he likes the way they sound and he expected that from a mud tire anyway.

I dont mind loud tires. Just dont like tires that are hard to balance and dont wear evenly!

Yeah i too have about 5k miles on them and they measured almost identically to when they were stock. Also personally i know two people that claim to have gotten 50k miles on theres (a dodge power wagon and F250 diesel) but both were very conservative drivers and the tires were never taken offroad so iono. I must say that these tires are loud as my friends can hear me coming from about 1-1.5 miles away but it barely drowns out my exhaust so it works for me . Also if you rotate these tires properly they suffer from no balance issues or wear issues. Almost always the people that have a complaint about these tires are the one's that never rotated them properly.

Why do so many people complain about tire noise? You are driving a 4 wheel drive truck, and are talking about putting on larger tires...theres going to be ground pounding no matter what tread you put on there. If you don't like the noise...get a sports car or something.

the nitto's look good but are not good on milage. as for the the bfg at's my dad has them on his ram and hes gotten almost 60,000 miles out of them with rotation every 3,000 miles. noisy as hell but they last pretty good! good luck
