Sand/Street Tire and wheels

I have a 2004 F150. I am adding a camburg 7.5 lift with prerunner fenders and deaver rear springs. I am currently having my mom and her boyfriend build my truck while i am in iraq. I spend most my time home on leave in glamis and dumont dunes. I also spend alot of time on the street. what would be a good sand/ street tire? can i ditch my factory 18 in wheels and use aftermarket 17 in wheels? i have discs on all four corners. I plan on using a 35x 12.50 or 35x13.50 tire. thank you

yes you can use 17 in wheels and a good tire would be the super swamper sts radial.

i guess i will have my mom and her boyfriend order me some sts radials after they get my truck down to camburg. I got 9 months left out here in iraq and am looking forward to seeing my baby finished and waiting for me to get home. I get more eager when i hear that more is getting ordered and parts are getting stocked up to complete the build. i wish i had more hands on with this truck. thanks for the info

Just about any all terrian radial tire will be a good choice. I'd suggest going with an 18x9 inch wheel and a 325/65-18 tire, which is essentially a 35x13.00 tire. I'd recommend looking at the BFG AT KO, Nitto Terra Grappler, Toyo AT, Mickey Thompson ATZ, **** Cepek FC II or Pro Comp Xtreme AT.

The STS is nice and all for the sand, but I'd rather have an all terrain for street and sand. The BFG AT does great in the sand. The key to traction out there is airing down. I had my 2wd ranger out in pismo a few weeks ago aired down to about 5 psi all around (2wd) and I did just fine. Make sure you air down the fronts too, alot of people over look that

I like the BFG ATs personally, though I've never had them on sand, just mud. Good luck out there! Only a little while longer!

Don't get a mud terrain for a 2wd in the sand, the tires will dig a lot.
Get a nice smooth(er) all terrain like the Toyo A/T's or Terra Grapplers.
