Weak new brakes help!

So I replaced all the pads and rotors with some decent stuff from kragen and now they have about 500 miles on them. So I put my foot down as far as I can the brakes wont even lock up or hit abs at all?? They seen really soft and I also tow and this is just not going to do it! Im going to do braded lines but my old warn out brakes were better and they were shot!

Any idea's?

Here is what I put on front and rear also......

start off checking every inch of brake line for leaks. i went to check my fluids one day and noticed brake fluid looked kind of low. so i added some..the pedal felt fine.i checked again few days later ..low again!! turned out my passenger rear caliper was seeping fluid and it was whipping all over the inside of the tire so...it never leaked on the ground. CHECK EVERYTHING.

Cool

Agree with Kieth97xlt. Look everything over for leaks.

Also, When you changed out the pads. When you compressed the caliper pistons, where you careful around the boots? you can easily pinch one and any small tear will leak.
How is you fluid level at the M/C?

If noting is leaking, bleed the system or have it bled. You may have gotten air in the lines some how.

Good luck

Ok ill check for leaks today. The fluid level is the same after I topped it off after the brake job so thats why it dosent seem like a leak. Ill let you guys know what I find....

So I bled the system and checked for any leaks or fluid loss and its all good. The truck still stops ok but for towing it will not be good enough. Im looking for an initial bite that is stronger and overall more friction I guess...Any more idea's??

Put the factory size tires on or upgrade to larger breaks. My inlaws F250 feels the same way. Thats why they do not recomend upgrading tires. Many shops will not install anything other than factory recomended sizes.

What about upgrading the front brakes with braded lines hps hawk pads and drilled and slotted rotors? What percent improvement do you think it would be over what I have?
