F150 Abs Problem

My 1998 F150 4x4 With Rabs Has The Terrible Abs Light On. In Recent Comments A Control Module On The Left Frame Rail Was Mentioned. I Can't Seem To Locate This Module For Testing. Also Does The Speed Sensor In The Differential Have A Resistance Check? If So, What Should It Read?

I would find someone with a scanner [not a code reader] that will read ABS and post the code numbers here so we can help you better.

The module is mounted on the frame rail, just behind the engine compartment. Just follow the brake lines as they exit the master cylinder and go towards the rear brakes. The unit has an electrical connector and a bleed valve. When bleeding the brakes, the control module must also be bled. What are your symptoms (besides the light being on)?

There Are No Braking Problems, Just The Light On. The Dealer Indicated That The Abs Module Needed Replaced At A $550 Cost. I Am Tempted To Remove The Lamps And Forget Rear Abs.

When the unit goes bad it can cause rear lockup problems that can be eliminated by removing the electrical connector. Check to be sure someone hasn't already done that.

My light was on, tested with a volt meter the 3 spots, each connector to the front, they were good, tested the ABS sensor on the diff, 0.0 so I replaced, 20 something bux and no light. Becha it's that, pretty common.

i have the same problem (abs light on), could this problem be brought on by water? and where are the sensors at?
hasn't seemed to affect the driveability, though it did seem kind of slow today, and brake pedal seemed tight, but could have just been my imagination.
