285/60/18 tire on a 18X 9.5 rim

Well I have my rims ordered now. So now I am in need of some tires. Will this tire fit on this size rim without any problems? They will be going on a 99 F-150 4X4. Will I have any fitment issues either mounting the tire on the rim or with them rubbing at all without a leveling kit?

Looking at tire racks specs a 285/60-18 fits a 8 - 10 inch wide rim. So you should be fine from that perspective.

Without knowing the details on the wheels, can't offer anything else. Post those and I'm sure someone can tell you if you'll have a problem.

They will fit fine, but I'd go with something a little larger. Those are basically a 32x11.50-18 tire. I'd go with at least a 285/65-18 (33x11.50).

My stock wheels are 265/70/17. I know going to these other wheels won't affect the speedometer by that much but what about shift points? Is the difference between the 285/60 and the 285/65 even noticable? Which ones are closer to the same height as the stockers? Would I notice a gas milage difference between the 285/60 and the 285/65 tires?

A 285/60-18 is gonna be close to the same height as your oem tires. To get the exact height, check out each tire manufacturers website. I doubt you will notice a difference goint to a tire only an inch taller.

Cooper has the Zeon LTZ in the 285/60/18. It's a good looking tire, is inexpensive, and I have heard nothing but good things about it. Just a suggestion if you decide to go with that size.
