I need tire advice

I'm looking at getting some new tires and just don't know which ones to go with. I don't have any lift or anything so I'm probably just going with some 275s or 285s. I'm looking at the BFG ATs, nitto terra grapplers, and the new interco M16s. I do mostly highway driving until hunting season comes around and then do some trailriding and off roading. I'm just using my stock 18s. I would just like some opinions, especially from people with any of these tires. I live in MN right on the canadian border so they,re going to be seeing alot of snow and ice. Thanks!!

I would suggest the BFG A/T

The SS m-16 come in a very limited supply of sizes right now (soon to change) but have a pretty aggressive look to em. They are suppose to be right between a A/T and a M/T but by the looks of em, will be a little loud on the highway.

BFG A/T is tried and true. Very good tire, very good road manners, great traction on and off road, and will last a long time. Simply the best A/T IMO.

I would go w/ the BFG At's. I have them on my truck, and they have served me well, both on the road hopping curbs, lol, barreling from stoplights, etc, and offroad, providing good traction, ability, etc. i live in the South, and can't comment much on the snow behavior, but I here they do well in the snow as well.

I really don't know if I could handle the bullets on the side of the M16s. I had SSRs on a 99 dodge and it just sapped all my power just turning those and I don't want that to happen again either.

i just got mickey thompson ATZ and i freakin love them. Smooth as hell, slight sound, but its a cool light sounding hum, the tread depth is 20/32, which is more thena the bfg at. but bfg makes em last longer than anyone, i chose the tire 50 bucks less

Those nitto terra graplers look nice, but the bfg will give you more tread life, and the bfg aint that bad looking itself, but look out cause I heard that nitto was cutting back on making some of their tires below like 35s or somethin, maybe just the mud grapplers but just something to think about...

I do like the ATZs but they don't make them in a size I could use. The only thing close is a 275/70/18 and I think that those would probably rub but I'm not positive either.

I would like to get a leveling kit but I don't want to lose any MPGs by lifting it. What is the max size I could run without leveling it? Its an 06 with the stock 18" wheels.

I'd guess a 285x65x18 which is close to 33 inches tall and will fit on the stock wheels. I'd look at BFG, Nitto or Toyo AT's. I have BFG and Toyo AT's and like them both.

I was looking on offroaders.com and they gave the M16 a decent rating. I don't know if that means anything. I never read anything from people who actually have the tire.

Another vote for the BFG AT from me. As MT posted, they are long lasting and a good handling tire with good grip until the mud gets really gooey.

For snow and ice and light offroad use, the BFG AT is a super tire. I have run them before on a couple of trucks in about the same terrain you've got over in MN.

I can't speak for the other tires you're looking at though...don't know anyone running them.

Another "mild" AT I've had good luck with on snow and ice is the Cooper Discoverer ATR (the Dean Wildcat AT is a twin to it). Not quite as aggressive tire so they're not as good as the BFG ATs offroad but they make great winter tires if you can get em in your size.

I was pretty set on going with the nittos but I think you guys are changing my mind. the nittos are $100 cheaper installed but it sounds like in the long run I'm better off with the BFGs. I really like the looks of them to.
