i've been thinking of doing this as well for some special wheels i've been eyeing for myself
good to know im not the only one who wants to do this, let alone has done this.

Looking at the quality of some of them out there there is some garbage being marketed.
My search led me to your post ,,, thanks Google.

So efuehrin, do you have a company link for these adapters that you can share ?

What I like about yours is they fit a specific 5x135. Most of what I have seen is an attempt to fit both 5x135 AND 5x5 hubs to a 5x5.5 wheel. That just looks week to me.

I am still not sold on the adapters. It does put more stress on the wheel bearings and axles because the wheels are being pushed out to a place that it was not designed for. Most of the guys I talk to that have done this have had nothing but trouble after about the first 1 yr. I hope it all works out for you.

Inland wheel and tire. Google it. They make them.

Another update. I've got a CV joint going out but hell I've had a 6" lift with 35's for 30K miles and 9" with 38's on for 20K miles.

I'm surprised it's lasted this long.

and why not just re drill rotors? was it to much stress on them?

you would have to re-drill the rotors and hubs. And from what I've heard that's not an easy job.
