Help Please!!!

Hey guys...
I have a 2003 Ford F150 FX4. I am putting a 3 inch body lift on it. What would you say is the biggest tire I can safely fit on the stock 17x7.5 rim? I currently have 285/70 R17 right now with no lift. No rubbing, fit perfect. I want to go as big as i can. And as wide as I can. Please help me out.
Thanks!

305 is probably pushing it, but that should fit on the stock wheel. 285 is the widest you can safely run though. Might be able to fit a 75 height.

You can fit a 315/70-17 (35x12.50) but you will need to keep an eye on the air pressure so the center of the tread doesn't wear too quickly. They would look and fit better on a set of 17x9 or 17x10 inch wheels.

Great thanks for your help, i was thinking of the Toyo Open Country M/T 285/75-r17. I think they are 34.1 by 11.6. I am looking for a good mud terrain that does well on the road as well. I heard they were one of the best. Any other Ideas?

For fun, what do you think would be the biggest tire to fit without a lift?

Without any lift, you can fit a 315/70-17 (35x12.50) by using the oem wheels. However they look really stuffed without any lift.

That would be the largest size for stock height with minor rubbing. I'd go with a 33 inch tire like a 285/70-17 (33x11.50) or a 305/65-17 (33x12.50).

I would go with a new rim and 315/70r17 if you can. I have a 16x10 with 4.5 in of BS and 315/75r16(35x12.5) and it sits perfectly. Not stuffed and no rubbing. Just my .02
