Weld or ProComp Wheels?

It's time to replace the factory tires on my 2006 FX4 and I would like to do some upgrading. I've been looking at wheels and tires, trying to decide whether to go with another 18" wheel or drop down to 17". I don't want to go to a 20" for cost and aesthetic reasons, and want to keep my tire size at 33" or so, don't want to totally kill the mileage and power of the truck. I plan to add an Easy Lift front leveling kit first so I think I'll have plenty of room up front.

I'd like some advice on offset and backspacing needs and to hear from those with Weld and ProComp wheels. I've always thought Weld Wheels were one of the best. However their backspacing and wheel width is different from alot of the other aftermarket wheels so I wasn't sure how these would work.
I don't want my tires sticking 4 inches out of the wheel wells

I'm looking at the ProComp 6001
6001

ProComp 6005

And the Weld Velocity 6

Now, the ProComps are available in 17x9 and 18x9, the Welds are 17x10 or 17x8.5.

Advice?

I like the Pro Comps. Try to stay close to the oem 5.5 inches of bs.

I see that neither of the Procomp wheels has 5.5 bs, although the 17x9 has 4.75 bs with -6mm of offset. I assume that means offset in toward the frame, and + offset is out away from the frame. What width tire should I run with that wheel?

No pics right now, the f150 has a chin dent, so I'm looking for a new bumper as well. Black 2006 FX4 Supercab.

Go with a BFG all-terrain 285/70/17 (33x11.5), shouldn't have any rubbing issues and will look great

Welds all the way! But, that's me! For 75% off! Christ, I'd have myself a 3rd set, maybe a 4th. If they had what I wanted in stock! An in chrome!

from my research when i bought my wheels, i saw pro comp have some wheels that were like special in some way. like 450 a wheel. all the other wheels are 2-350 a wheel. but these were special. every now and again they have buy 3 get one free. they are supposed to be super light and super strong, it think.

Pro Comp does have a line of forged aluminum wheels. I think those are what you are referring to FX4texasgirl.
