Help with '02 4x4 front brake rotors

I have my front wheel off and plan replacing the rotors along with the second set of pads. First was done @ 30K using same rotors. Now I want to replace everything. I can not get the rotor to budge. Am I missing something? Even a small sledge will not even budge it. Somebody please help. Shouldn't they just come right off????

It should come right off. You might want to try spraying around the hub and studs with PB Blaster to try and get that to soak in then smack it with a sledge hammer. A couple hard shots should pop it off. Just watch out for the studs.

Just making sure you have 4X4 and NOT 4X2 right??

I put new front rotors on my 2001 4x4 f150 with 40k miles, I took a hack saw and cut the rotor from the edge straight in to the hub, then make a second cut 180 degrees from the first. then I grabbed the rotor with a 18" crescent 90 degrees from a cut, used a 4 foot piece of pipe over the wrench, pull and snap it in half. I see your in the rust belt LI NY. They do get locked on there. Lots of posts on this subject. Use anti sieze compound on the hub/rotor mating surface when you put the new rotors on.

Good luck!
