Nitto TG or Cooper ST?

looking at either of these for my 03 Ex 4x4.

NTG: 295/70/17 with 16.5/32nd's tread depth. size is about 33.2" 755 shipped

CST: 285/70/17 with 18/32nd tread size is about 32.8 796 shipped

going to use my stock 17" rims (oh well).

I believe both are load range D (8ply). Is that sufficient for the 6K lb Ex?

Any thoughts pro or con would be appreciated.

Bolth will work. I'd go with the Terra Grapplers.

Why is that?

All of us here greatly appreciate your opinions. Just wondering what your reasoning is for choosing the NTG's?

My dad and I both have the terra grapplers on our trucks and we are more then happy with them. They work really well in the snow and on the wet roads and are wearing nicely. No complaints at all.

I agree, go with the Nitto's. They are made by Toyo so you know they are good.

We don't have any place that carries the Nittos in my area, so I've only seen online reports about em. Sounds like a decent tire, and as PawPaw said they're built by Toyo so they should be good.

On the Coopers...
Are you looking at the S/T or the STT?
The S/T is a good tire for on/off road use but it is noisy.
The STT is also pretty loud...but it's quite a bit more aggressive than the S/T, especially on the side lugs.
Noise level is about the same one both tires...the S/T's howl is a little higher pitched at the same speed compared to the STT. Given that they're both noisy, I'd go with the STT myself.

I've seen STTs go 30,000 miles and still have at least 50% tread left. I haven't seen as many S/Ts on the road as STTs, but they seem to have about the same tread life.

I agree withj Nittos, I have 295/70/17 and they fillout wheel well real nice. The tires ride and drive geat. took hardly any weight. Boyd
